For many couples, pregnancy puts a stop to sex, often driven by the stigma around pregnancy sex. A recent study found that a couple’s attitude toward pregnancy sex affected their overall sexual satisfaction, such that couples with positive attitudes were more satisfied. The study also found that negative attitudes often stem from myths or other cultural beliefs that have no basis in science.
As I urged in my recent newsletter, if you’re pregnant give yourself the right to be a sexual being and if your partner is pregnant work on overcoming the harmful beliefs and make your partner feel desired again.
