The Science of Sex and Dating
March 8 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Confused by dating norms in 2019? Wondering if non-monogamy is right for you? Frustrated by online dating or casual sex? Interested to learn more about the science behind our sexual choices? Join Colloquia in getting answers to these questions from psychologist Lawrence Ian Reed and sex researcher Dr. Zhana Vrangalova. The event will be moderated by Prakhar Gupta and followed by an audience Q&A.
Dr. Zhana Vrangalova is an NYC-based sex researcher, writer, and educator. She holds Ph.D.hD in Developmental Psychology from Cornell University, where she studied how different aspects of sexuality (especially casual sex/promiscuity and mostly heterosexuality) are linked to health and well-being. She is currently an adjunct professor at the New York University Psychology department where she teaches a course on Human Sexuality.
Lawrence Ian Reed is a clinical assistant professor at New York University where he studies the facial expression of emotion, focusing on why we so visibly express our private motivational and emotional states. He is also a clinically trained psychologist with a specialization in treating adolescents and adults with mood and emotional disorders. He also teaches Evolutionary Psychology at Columbia University during the summer semester.
Join Dr. Zhana in Pupin 428 at Columbia University on March 8th at 7 pm. Tickets are free, but you must register. Check out the event page here.
