Sex Ed for Kids, Norwegian Style

You all know how much sex education sucks in the U.S., right? If you don’t, this Last Week’s Tonight’s episode of John Oliver’s show gives a pretty good look into it.

Things in much of Northern Europe are completely different. Sex education starts early and is quite comprehensive, access to condoms and birth control is easily accessible to everyone, and sexual health services are free. Guess what the outcomes are? The U.S. has the highest teen pregnancy, teen births, STIs among, and sexual shame all developed countries in the world; the Nordic countries have the lowest rates of all four.

And now, to make sex ed even more accessible to all, Norwegian State TV aired THIS sex ed show for 8 year olds to teach them about our bodies and sex. Prepubescent children in Norway know more about sexual pleasure, health and safety than the vast majority of adults in the U.S. This is is the right way to do sex ed for kids (and for adults)!!

Could cuckolding be a positive thing for some couples? Goes Deeper A new study just published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behavior investigated fantasies about and experiences with cuckolding in a large and diverse sample of gay-identified men. Another fun tidbit about this study is that one of its authors is someone who most listeners are probably familiar with but is not a scientist and has never published an academic

  • Orgasms for Dummies – TSOS Podcast, Ep. 16!

It might not be a surprise that, on average, straight women orgasm less frequently than straight men when it comes to their sexual encounters, but why is this? Goes Deeper A 2014 nationally representative study of Americans ages 18-59 found that 91% of men but only 64% of women reported orgasm during their most recent partnered sex. However, lesbians orgasm much more frequently and reliably than heterosexual and bisexual women, but for the men, there are fewer, if any, sexual orientation differences when it comes to orgasm frequency.
