Sex Ed for Kids, Norwegian Style

You all know how much sex education sucks in the U.S., right? If you don’t, this Last Week’s Tonight’s episode of John Oliver’s show gives a pretty good look into it.

Things in much of Northern Europe are completely different. Sex education starts early and is quite comprehensive, access to condoms and birth control is easily accessible to everyone, and sexual health services are free. Guess what the outcomes are? The U.S. has the highest teen pregnancy, teen births, STIs among, and sexual shame all developed countries in the world; the Nordic countries have the lowest rates of all four.

And now, to make sex ed even more accessible to all, Norwegian State TV aired THIS sex ed show for 8 year olds to teach them about our bodies and sex. Prepubescent children in Norway know more about sexual pleasure, health and safety than the vast majority of adults in the U.S. This is is the right way to do sex ed for kids (and for adults)!!

The film features Taiwanese men and women who speak with striking frankness about the ways pornography has shaped their relationships, their sexual imaginations, their
